It is useful to prepare the following documents before looking at mortgage options, to save time later when you may have found the property you want:

  • Tax return or P60
  • Copy of passport
  • Bank reference
  • 3 months bank statements
  • References from an employer or accountant
  • 3 months pay slips
  • Nota simple – a certificate given by the local Property Registry, which contains a full description of the property that you are going to purchase in Spain
